The publishing process

Writing

The DCU Press team is available throughout the writing process to respond to any questions. During this stage, authors should keep in mind the terms agreed upon in their contract, including the word count, number of images, and the submission deadline. Any third-party material must be cleared for publication, with the appropriate permissions obtained to meet legal and publishing requirements.

Production

After the final manuscript has been submitted and reviewed, the book project is handed over to a production editor at DCU Press’s service partner, UCL Press. The production editor manages the project from this point through to the final proofs and prepares the files for both online and print publication. They serve as the primary contact for authors during the production phase.

DCU Press aims to produce titles to the highest editorial and production standards. Authors will receive professional services including copy-editing, proofreading, typesetting, and cover design from UCL Press. As outlined in the contract, authors are responsible for providing their own index.

Upon publication, authors will receive complimentary copies of the book and a link to the open access (OA) version.
