Peer review

Once a book proposal has been considered by the Editorial Board, it will be sent—along with accompanying draft chapters (or the full manuscript, if available)—to at least two external subject experts approved by the Board for peer review. This review process typically takes between six weeks and three months to complete.

After the reviews are received, authors are invited to respond to any questions or suggestions raised by the reviewers. Based on the reviews and the authors’ responses, the Editorial Board will then make a recommendation to approve or reject the proposal to the Press Advisory Board.
